About Kaiju Aikido

Kaiju Aikido Club, in its 12th year, is inclusive of all styles of Aikido, and uses elements and principles from many sources. Nakamura Sensei integrates innovation and artistry into every class, fostering a fun, supportive, and nurturing community where students of all ages can learn and grow.

Participants discover a sense of harmony and connection that extends beyond the dojo, enriching both their physical abilities and their approach to life itself.

Kaiju Aikido—stylistically—is a Bento Box of Aikido ideas.

Why Kaiju Aikido Club?

What is difficult to convey to someone who has not experienced it firsthand is how truly transformative the environment of Aikido can be. Unlike competitive sports, Aikido removes the pressure of winning or losing, allowing students to focus on cooperation, presence, and personal growth. The practice cultivates positive thinking, fostering a cheerful and open-minded outlook, while turning physical contact into an act of trust and friendship rather than conflict. Through regular practice, participants discover a sense of harmony and connection that extends beyond the dojo, enriching both their physical abilities and their approach to life itself. Watch videos from the Dojo and read what students have to say: Voices from the Dojo.

A Different Kind of Martial Arts School

Are you feeling disillusioned by the competitive, sometimes aggressive nature of martial arts? Tired of high fees, rigid contracts, and military-style drills that focus solely on winning at all costs? Aikido offers a refreshing alternative. Often called the “Art of Peace,” Aikido emphasizes self-cultivation, developing both inner and outer strength, while fostering a supportive, cooperative community. Its practice is without harsh methods and unnecessary pressure, allowing students to grow physically, mentally, and socially in an environment that is safe, inclusive, and encouraging.

Our Kids Program

In our kids program, we embrace the idea of the perpetual game — a way of learning that stays in motion. When training is fun, curiosity stays alive, and growth happens naturally. The goal isn't just improvement — it's a lasting love of practice.
